Private Medication Reviews

Due to the long NHS waiting times, some families choose to seek private ADHD assessments or medication. Please note that we are unable to prioritise children who have been prescribed medication privately. If you choose this route, we will be unable to prescribe medication until they reach to top of our waitlist and therefore any medication would need to be funded privately until they are seen within the NHS.

Guidance

We understand this is a significant financial decision. We have pulled together further information on Private Providers to help you make an informed decision.

Private Reviews

If during the time you are waiting to be seen by the the ADHD Medication clinic, you decide to start medication privately, please let us know, alongside sending us a copy of the most recent review appointment. Please note NICE guidelines are clear that children taking ADHD medication need a review every 6 months. As such we are not able to offer your child an appointment if they have not received reviews every 6 months with their private provider.
