ADHD Clinic

Who we are

The ADHD clinic is a specialist team supporting children and young people aged 5 to 18 years old with the treatment of ADHD.

. We offer:

• Initial appointments to discuss and begin ADHD medication.
• Ongoing reviews for young people who continue to take ADHD medication.

Who we see

Young people referred to the ADHD medication clinic must:

• have a formal diagnosis of ADHD, with a diagnostic report that meets NICE guidelines.
• experience symptoms that significantly impact their daily functioning or ability to concentrate.

We will also require consent from the young person that they are happy to take medication.

We do not

• prescribe medication for any other conditions such as Tourettes
• provide any other support for your child’s mental health.

How to refer

1. Referral via CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA)

• A referral to the CAMHS ADHD clinic can be made through our Single Point of Access team.
• We accept referrals from parents, carers, professionals and young people over 16.
• As part of the referral you will be asked to send us a copy of the young person’s ADHD diagnostic report.

2. Medication Following an ADHD Diagnosis within Bucks CAMHS

• if a young person has received an ADHD diagnosis following an assessment within Bucks CAMHS, families can opt in for medication within 6 months of the assessment appointment and be added to the ADHD clinic waiting list.
• If more than 6 months have passed since the assessment, a new referral must be made via our Single Point of Access team.
