ADHD Medication and Sleep

ADHD Medication

We understand you may have questions about ADHD medication and what to expect when you meet with our team. To support you, we’ve included a webinar led by one of our senior clinicians.

In this session, we explain:

  • The types of ADHD medication we use
  • What to expect during the process
  • Additional strategies that can support your young person alongside medication

Support with sleep

We also recognise that many children with ADHD experience difficulties with sleep. If you need support with sleep while waiting for your appointment, please visit our Support While You Wait  or sleep sections for helpful resources and strategies.

Sleep Medication

As an ADHD clinic, we are unable to prescribe sleep medication on its own and therefore cannot accept referrals solely for sleep-related concerns.

There has been a change to guidance for the prescribing of medication for sleep challenges from August 2026. If a child or young person is diagnosed with Autism and/or ADHD and various sleep strategies have been trialled, GPs are now able to prescribe Melatonin and should be contacted directly to explore this option.
