How to join
You can join SUN yourself (self-referral). This means:
- You do not need an assessment
- You do not need to be referred by a professional
Once you complete a Resource and Support Plan (RASP), you can attend SUN groups as often as you like.
What is a RASP?
The Resource and Support Plan (RASP) helps you and others in the group.
It helps to:
- Show others how to support you during sessions
- Help you think about ways to look after yourself outside the group
When you first join:
- Other group members will help you complete your plan
- They will also support you as you settle into the group
Can I use other services?
Yes. Attending SUN will not affect other support you receive.
- You can still use other services at the same time
- It may help to let those services know you are attending SUN
How to refer yourself
Option 1: Virtual Assistant (recommended)
The easiest way to join is by using the Virtual Assistant.
- Works on phones, tablets, and computers
- Uses a secure chat
- Sends your form straight to the SUN team

For professionals
- Professionals can also use the Virtual Assistant to refer someone
Option 2: Referral form
If you cannot use the Virtual Assistant:
- You can download a Word version of the form
- Find it in the ‘Resources’ section
- You can print and complete it if needed
What happens next?
After completing your referral and RASP:
- You are welcome to start attending groups
- You can come as often as feels helpful to you
