This page is for young people who are being referred to the Buckinghamshire Community Eating Disorder Service (BCEDS) from the Children and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service (CAEDS).
How the services work together
BCEDS and CAEDS are separate services, but they work closely together.
Some staff members work across both the children’s and adult eating disorder teams, helping to provide continuity of care.
Transitioning your care
If it is likely that a young person will need ongoing support as they approach their 18th birthday, their CAMHS Key Worker will begin the process of moving their care to adult services.
When the transition begins
We aim to make this transition gradual and supportive.
Conversations about moving to adult services usually begin around the age of 17.5.
This gives young people time to understand and adjust to the change in a way that feels safe and manageable.
