The IPC team

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team is committed to being a knowledgeable/skilled, dynamic, and visible team, with:

  • a culture of zero tolerance to healthcare associated infections (HCAIs)
  • a robust governance assurance process for IPC
  • a robust IPC annual programme
  • a risk assessment approach embedded into practice

Our vision is to provide a high-quality IPC service, where no person’s health and wellbeing is harmed by preventable infections.

What we do

We work closely with all services across the Trust to uphold the highest standards of infection prevention and control (IPC).

Our team provides expert advice and practical support to ensure effective IPC practices are consistently applied in every care setting.

We deliver staff education, carry out ongoing surveillance, and help maintain a safe, sustainable healthcare environment.

Through clear policies, robust procedures, and accessible guidance, we demonstrate our commitment to meeting national IPC standards.

This gives patients, staff, carers, and visitors confidence that our infection prevention measures are reliable, effective, and always available when needed.
