Treatment initiation

Please be aware that without up to date readings of Blood Pressure, Pulse, and Weight, treatment cannot be started!

Medication

If a trial of ADHD medications is agreed, you will be offered an appointment with a prescriber to discuss your options and the goals you are hoping to achieve through treatment. Typically these first appointments take around 45 minutes and you will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the pros and cons of the medicines used to treat ADHD.  Once a treatment plan has been agreed we will start the process of introducing medication, this is referred to as the titration phase.

Once titrated (stabilised) on your medication, we will ask your GP to continue to prescribe this going forwards and discharge you to their care.

If a decision is made between you and your clinician that medication is not advised, then we will discharge you from the service and encourage you to engage in the resources available on our website.
