Titration and Stabilisation
Please be aware that if up to date readings of your Blood Pressure, Pulse, and Weight are not supplied at your titration appointments then prescriptions CANNOT be supplied, this may interrupt your treatment and may lead to you being discharged from the service.
Titration
The titration phase typically takes 3 to 4 months and you will be offered monthly appointments with your prescriber to review your physical observations, any side effects, response to treatment, and progress towards your goals for treatment.
The approach to medication from the Oxford NHS ADHD team is to trial the medication agreed upon, slowly increase the dose to reach the level of best therapeutic effect, and to carefully monitor potential side effects.
While we aim for this to be completed within the 4 month timescale this can sometimes take longer depending on medical interactions, physical health responses or due to complex comorbid conditions that need specialist input from outside services.
