What to include
To help us assess the referral effectively, please include:
- Recent weight and height (within the last two weeks)
- Any significant weight changes, if relevant
- The results of a recent blood test, including FBC, ESR, U&E, LFT, TFT, magnesium, CRP, vitamin D, zinc, and a full bone profile
- Details of eating disorder thoughts and behaviours, including the frequency of any behaviours aimed at controlling or affecting weight
If you want a consultation to discuss a potential review please contact the service. A duty clinician is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm for consultation.
Inpatient referrals (SEDU)
Referrals for admission to a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) must first be referred to and triaged by the OACEDS team.
Referrals for patients under 18
For individuals under 18 years of age, please refer them to the CAMHS Single Point of Access in the first instance.
Emergencies in Eating Disorders
Non-urgent advice: Important: We are not a crisis service
Please note that we are not a crisis service. In the event of an emergency:
- For medical emergencies, please contact the patient’s GP or the local acute hospital, or advise the patient to call 999.
- For mental health emergencies, please contact the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Crisis Team, who are best placed to provide urgent mental health support.
