World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September promotes worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides. The Government has launched a national Suicide Prevention Strategy that aims to reduce the suicide rate and provide improved support for bereaved families.

Locally, the Barnes Unit and the Centre for Suicide Research are holding a conference to mark World Suicide Prevention Day, the launch of the new strategy and to raise awareness.
