Dr Holland joins the Trust from North London NHS Foundation Trust, bringing extensive experience as both a clinician and NHS leader.

He will lead Oxford Health as it continues to provide community, mental health and learning disability services across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire and beyond.

The Trust also today bids a fond farewell to former Chief Executive Grant Macdonald, who has now retired after a career spanning almost 40 years in the NHS.

Dr Michael Holland said:

“I am thrilled to be joining Oxford Health and already have a strong sense of the passion and dedication of colleagues across the organisation.

“My first priority will be to listen, learn and understand what matters most to our staff, patients and partners so I can build on the strong foundations already in place across Oxford Health.

“I look forward to visiting services and meeting my new colleagues over the coming months.”

Dr Holland was appointed following a highly competitive recruitment process, with stakeholders recognising his strong focus on patients and families, clear communication style and commitment to continuous improvement.

Andrea Young, Chair of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Michael to Oxford Health.

“His deep experience, insight and commitment to public service will be a tremendous asset to the Trust.

“I look forward to working closely together and know colleagues across Oxford Health will join me in welcoming him to our team.”

Over the coming weeks and months, Dr Holland will be visiting services across the Trust to meet the people who deliver and receive care and to learn more about the communities Oxford Health serves.
