This page explains how to make a referral to our service and what happens once we receive it.
Important information
- Referrals must be made by a GP or a mental health professional – we’re not able to accept self-referrals.
- If you’re worried about yourself and aren’t currently under mental health services, please book an appointment with your GP. They can discuss your concerns and refer you if needed.
- If you’re worried about someone else, encouraging them to speak to their GP is a good first step.
Referrals process
Complete our referral form
Please complete our referral form with as much detail as possible.
Send it to the appropriate inbox
- If you are a mental health professional, email the form to: buckseatingdisorderservice@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk
- If you are a GP, email the form to: gateway.admin@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk
We review your referral
A member of our team will look over the information and decide on the next steps.
What happens next
If the referral is accepted, we’ll aim to keep the referrer updated.
If the referral is not accepted, this may be because:
- We need more information – we’ll contact you to request this, and you can re-send the referral if appropriate.
- Our service may not be the right fit. We will update you and explain why if this is the case.
