The BAADIS quality improvement (QI) project focused on making our services more accessible for autistic individuals.
Quality Improvement is a structured approach used in healthcare to identify challenges, test changes, and measure outcomes to ensure services are continuously evolving to meet the needs of those who use them.
In this project, we worked collaboratively with service users and staff to understand barriers to accessibility and implement practical, autism-informed adjustments.
These included changes to communication styles, physical environments, and appointment processes.
As a result, service user ratings of accessibility improved significantly, reflecting a more inclusive and responsive service.
We’re proud that our poster showcasing this work was recognised in a recent competition, highlighting the impact of co-produced, person-centred care.
