We are proposing to expand our range of CPD modules offered through the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust – Oxford Brookes University partnership to include courses which would be accredited for professional chaplaincy and pastoral care by the CPCPC (Council of Professional Chaplains and Pastoral Carers).
In addition to the PGCert Psychospiritual Care — our existing non-accredited CPD PGCert for health and social care practitioners from a variety of clinical and therapeutic professions — we are proposing to open the following accredited courses in September 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter:
- PGCert Professional Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care
- PGDip Professional Chaplaincy and Psychospiritual Care
- Master’s in Professional Chaplaincy and Psychospiritual Care
The table below shows the relevant modules and how they fit together in the different course programmes (you can also download a pdf of the table).
The Professional Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care module will be specific to those on the pathway to apply for accreditation as chaplains, whereas in the other modules you would be studying alongside a variety of other health and social care practitioners.
We are inviting engagement and feedback from interested parties. In particular we would like to hear from you if you would consider taking one or more of these modules or courses as we need to provide evidence of demand for these courses to the university.
