Any NHS professional working in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland can refer someone to OHSPIC for assessment.

OHSPIC will also consider referrals from Social Care within Local Authorities where the patient’s GP is in agreement with the referral.

Funding agreement

As we are a highly specialist treatment centre, most people will require funding to be agreed by their local commissioning group or similar funding panel for their assessment and any subsequent treatment.

This means we require that local NHS funding is sought by the referrer from the local Integrated Care Board (ICB, formerly CCG) to secure funding for assessment and any recommended treatment. It is important to note that each local funding authority has their own criteria for agreeing funding to specialist treatment centres such as ours.
