The Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit Team wins September’s Team Exceptional People Award for providing medical, nursing and therapist assessments and treatments for adults with sub-acute care needs.
Clinical Lead Tendai Mugariri said:
“We are truly grateful for the recognition of our hard work and team approach, and it is very much appreciated.
“This award means a great deal to our team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every member of the Witney Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit team — our administrator, HCAs, therapists, paramedic, nurse associates, doctors, and nurses. You all do an outstanding job for our community. Well done!”
The nomination
Nominated by a patient’s family member for their exceptional assessment and care of the family’s elderly mother when she was unwell, offering her a faster and more convenient alternative than just an admission to hospital.
The family said:
“All the staff on the Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit were brilliant and took such good care of our mother during her time at the Witney Hospital. This meant she could go home on the same day and received a five-star experience throughout.
“All patients under their care receive a treatment plan with ongoing care to support them and their carers during episodes of illness.
“Our mother received outstanding care and support as well as assessments from cutting the crusts off her sandwiches, dental issues, explaining all the tests and procedures to the next steps and what needed to happen during her aftercare.
“This meant that after her treatment she could go home rather than having to stay overnight in hospital, which she was very happy with this outcome.
“Our family thanks all the nurses and doctors on the Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit team for everything they have done for our mother.”
