Dr Sree said:

The nomination

Sree was nominated by his colleague Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, for Didcot and Wallingford Community Hospitals, Claire Austen.

Claire commented:

“Sree holds himself to a very high standard of practice and he supports the whole team to ensure they too strive to achieve this. The role of a GP in community hospitals is a complex one, and Sree’s knowledge and experience is unmatched to ensure all his patients receive the most effective outcomes.

“Sree is a well-respected and valued member of our team; he regularly goes out of his way to follow up any questions or queries put to him. He demonstrates a very intuitive yet methodical approach to his patient assessment and treatment, and his knowledge of frailty and the multifactorial issues that occur mean his patients have excellent care and outcomes as he treats the “whole person” and not just the condition they were admitted with. He is respectful and curious regarding his colleagues and is not afraid to change his approach or plan, as he always puts the patient first. He is responsive in actioning any concerns raised regarding patient safety and wellbeing and will ensure they are followed up in a timely manner.

“I strongly believe that any patient who is admitted to Sree receives the gold standard of frailty assessment and medical care. Over the years there have been numerous cases where Sree has intervened to advocate for his patients’ health and care needs, to support a whole system approach to effective management of their condition. We see many complex cases including neurology, mental health, spinal injuries and orthopaedic conditions that are not just limited to the elderly population and Sree’s depth of knowledge is remarkable.

“Sree has been an invaluable source of knowledge and support for our Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs). In the years I have worked with Sree I can honestly say that he really does lead by example. His compassionate and caring approach to patients, his patience and grace when dealing with challenging situations, and his genuine love for his work and for his colleagues makes work a very easy place to be when he is around.”
