Buckinghamshire Maternal Mental Health Service

The Buckinghamshire Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) provides support to women and birthing persons who are experiencing emotional distress related to their maternity experience.

This service is available across Buckinghamshire.

If you would like support but are unsure whether we are the right service for you please contact us on 01865 901764 or bmmhsadmin@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk as we would be happy to discuss this further. We have lots of information about other types of support available in the Bucks area and would be happy to redirect you if we think we would not be the right team for you.

Why is this support necessary?

Pregnancy, birth and the first year of parenthood can be an exciting and joyous time for many people.

For others, it can be a challenging and upsetting journey in various ways.

This may be due to severe worry about the pregnancy, a difficult or traumatic birthing experience in the past or the loss of their baby.

We understand that your maternity experience, whatever the outcome, can affect your mental wellbeing.

Sometimes this can give rise to intense fear, distress or sadness.

We are here to support you and make sure that you get the help you need.
