We value your feedback and listen to your suggestions, we strive to continually improve our service to ensure we provide you/your child with the very best service when they meet us.  Here are some examples of how we have adapted our service following your feedback:

We provided stickers following flu vaccination and have also obtained stickers to be given after HPV vaccinations.

We purchased more Buzzy Bees for the team to use; the Buzzy works by gently vibrating the skin near the injection site, which can help to reduce the feeling of the injection and provide a distraction. Please ask your vaccinator if you think this may help.

We have purchased some ‘A’ boards to position outside premises to provide directions to clinics.

We have provided tips for what to wear on the day of vaccination in both the parent letter and student information flyer.

We’re committed to offering Immunisation clinics in a range of locations and at times that work best for you. Please check our Clinic page regularly, as new and more convenient options are added.

You Said you wanted numbing cream

Some children find having a topical numbing cream, applied before vaccination, can be helpful.  If you feel your child would benefit from a topical numbing cream being applied prior to having their vaccinations in a community clinic setting, please discuss with your local pharmacist.

You said you would like snacks to be available.

• We have added information to our 2026/27 parent letter asking that students bring a snack and a drink with them to their vaccination session.
• We also include this reminder in the HPV, Td/IPV and MenACWY vaccination leaflets shared with students through schools about a week before their appointment.
• When we deliver school assemblies, we remind young people to bring a snack and a drink on the day.
• Unfortunately, we are unable to provide snacks ourselves due to the risk of allergic reactions.

You said you would like more advance notice about vaccination sessions.

• Schools are provided with information to share with all Year 8 students before their HPV vaccination, and with Year 9 students before their Td/IPV and MenACWY vaccinations. If you haven’t received this information, please speak to your tutor.
• Your parent or carer will also receive details about your upcoming vaccination and will be asked to provide consent. It’s a good idea to talk with your parents or carers about your vaccinations—check which ones you’ve already had, whether you’re due any more, and when these might be.
