Support for carers, friends and family
Below are trusted organisations and resources to help you feel informed, supported, and connected.
Support groups
Connecting with others who understand the challenges of caring for someone with an eating disorder can make a real difference.
These groups hosted by the non-profit F.E.A.S.T. offer a safe space to share experiences, learn from others, and feel less alone.
- Caregiver Support Group – Peer-led spaces for parents, partners, and carers.
- Sibling Support Group – Dedicated support for siblings navigating the impact of an eating disorder in the family.
Carer skills workshops
Skills-based workshops can help you feel more confident and equipped in your caring role. New Maudsley Carers offer Carer Skills Workshops that cover communication strategies, understanding eating disorders, and practical tools for supporting recovery.
Online learning for carers
The Eating Disorders Hub is an interactive online learning platform created by the charity Beat for caregivers, family members, and anyone supporting a loved one with an eating disorder.
It includes videos, guidance, practical tools, and lived‑experience insights to help you navigate the journey with more clarity and confidence.
Local support
