Overview

Townlands Memorial Hospital in Henley-on-Thames provides a range of healthcare services for local people.

Services include outpatient appointments, diagnostic tests, rehabilitation, minor injuries treatment and community healthcare services.

The hospital was built to replace the former Townlands Hospital and offers modern facilities designed to support recovery and short-term care close to home.

In addition to its inpatient beds, the hospital has a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU).

Minor Injuries Unit (MIU)

What do Minor Injuries Unit treat?

MIU is for injuries sustained within the last seven days only. If your injury is older than this then you should make an appointment with your own GP.

We do accept walk in patients with injuries however it is often more efficient to contact 111 to make an appointment.

The MIU is not suitable for patients suffering from minor illnesses. If you are unwell, call 111 or access 111 online to book an appointment, or call 999 if the illness is life threatening.

Visiting

We welcome visits from family and friends during a patient’s stay on the ward.

Visiting hours:

• Monday to Sunday
• 2.30pm to 5.15pm and 6.15pm to 8pm

Referrals

• If you are living at home you can be referred to a community hospital by your GP.
• If you are already in another NHS hospital, you can be referred by that hospital via a centralised team.
• You cannot refer yourself to a community hospital. If you are feeling unwell you should contact your GP.
