{"id":211,"date":"2023-07-05T12:42:04","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T11:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/rd\/?page_id=211"},"modified":"2023-07-05T14:56:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T13:56:11","slug":"participation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/research\/themes\/memory\/participation\/","title":{"rendered":"Get involved"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Aspect<\/h2>\n<p>This study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for agitation associated with Alzheimer\u2019s dementia.<\/p>\n<p>Potential participants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be between the ages of 50 and 90<\/li>\n<li>have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer\u2019s dementia<\/li>\n<li>have moderate-to-severe agitation that interferes with daily life<\/li>\n<li>have a reliable caregiver who spends a minimum of 2 hours per day, 4 days per week with them who is willing and able to comply with all study procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligible\u00a0participants enrolled into the study will be randomly assigned (by chance, like drawing straws) into groups receiving either the investigational drug or placebo.<\/p>\n<p>The participant, their caregiver and the research staff will not know if the participant is receiving the investigational drug or placebo.<\/p>\n<p>Recruiting until June 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aspect This study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for agitation associated with Alzheimer\u2019s dementia.
