{"id":1643,"date":"2025-01-21T12:24:59","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T12:24:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/research\/?page_id=1643"},"modified":"2025-02-07T12:08:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-07T12:08:50","slug":"tvs-sde","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/research\/about\/tvs-sde\/","title":{"rendered":"Thames Valley &amp; Surrey Secure Data Environment (TVS SDE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Secure Data Environment (SDE) for research in the Thames Valley and Surrey<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>The importance of health and care data<\/h2>\n<p>The responsible use of health and care data is essential for providing\u00a0<strong>individual care<\/strong>, planning\u00a0<strong>services<\/strong>\u00a0and developing new\u00a0<strong>medical treatments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Across the country there is an increased focus on how to create better access to data for research and maintaining the highest standards of security and confidentiality.<\/p>\n<h2>Developing a local Secure Data Environment<\/h2>\n<p>Part of this new approach is to develop local\u00a0<strong>Secure Data Environments (SDE)<\/strong>. NHS organisations in the Thames Valley and Surrey (TVS), including Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, are working together to set up a local SDE for research.<\/p>\n<p>This environment will securely store patient data.<\/p>\n<p>People, such as university or industry researchers, can apply to become <strong>approved users<\/strong>\u00a0to access this data.
