The Senior Research Leader (SRL) Programme supports nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals (AHPs) in England to drive improvements in health and social care through research leadership.

For the next cohort, starting in 2027, we will recruit pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, with the additional aim of increasing commercial research activity in their organisation.

We are expanding research leadership across professions, settings and communities to open research career opportunities to everyone. By building long-term research capability, we are making the UK a more attractive place to conduct health and care research.
