Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust has been awarded a 3 stars rating – one star up on last year, in the annual announcements issued by the Healthcare Commission.
The Trust was awarded a two star rating in 2004 and has continued to improve and develop its services throughout the year to achieve today’s goal – hitting all its key targets including:
• Care Programme Approach (CPA) systems implementation
• Crisis resolution team implementation
• Financial Management
• Hospital Cleanliness
• Mental Health Minimum Dataset (MHMD) implementation
In addition to the key targets listed above, the Trust was also measured on a number of other areas that form the ‘balance scorecard’ and was in the top band (level 5) for performance for all three categories measured:
• Patient focus
• Clinical focus
• Capacity and capability
Commenting on the announcement, Julie Waldron, Chief Executive said: “We are of course delighted with our three stars rating result for Oxfordshire Mental Health NHS Trust, which reflects the dedication and sheer hard work of our staff over the last few years in providing high-quality care for people across the county.
“Achieving the top band for performance in all the areas and hitting our annual targets is a wonderful achievement for the Trust and we are extremely proud to have improved on last year’s result.
She added: “We are determined to continue focusing our efforts on improving and developing our mental health service for the future.”
