Occupational Therapist Sally Jones wins September’s Exceptional People Award for her dedication and efficiency in her role, seeing an average of 32 new patients per month - well above the Community Therapy Service central average

Despite Sally’s demanding caseload, she continues to receive outstanding feedback from clients and their families, reflecting her high quality and compassionate care.

Sally said,

“Thank you for this award, I feel very touched to have received it and grateful for all the kind words I have received from both the team and management. I feel extremely lucky to be surrounded by an amazing team who all work hard to provide the best outcomes for our patients.

I get great job satisfaction from my role and knowing you are valued and appreciated makes it even more rewarding.”

 

The nomination

Sally brings a blend of warmth, initiative, and quiet leadership to her role. Her presence in the team is both grounding and energising. She has a natural ability to lift morale, foster collaboration, and create a sense of shared purpose. Colleagues often describe her as the person who ‘just gets things done’.

Nominated by Community Therapy Service Central Clinical Lead Tom Cover for her generosity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment make her an invaluable asset to both her team and the wider service.

“Beyond Sally’s clinical excellence, she is a pillar of support within the team. She tirelessly mentor’s students, readily offers shadowing opportunities, and frequently steps in to cover for colleagues.

“She’s deeply committed to professional development, not only her own but that of others. Whether it’s guiding new staff, offering thoughtful insights during team discussions, or creating space for reflection and growth, Sally leads with generosity and humility.

“Sally consistently demonstrates the values of caring, safe, and excellent through her everyday work. She builds strong, respectful relationships with clients and their families, always taking time to listen and respond thoughtfully to their needs. Her calm and approachable manner helps people feel at ease, even in challenging situations.
