Health Matters with Dr Svetlana Hemsley – Dementia: the truth behind the headlines

Dr Svetlana Hemsley talks Dementia at our first Bucks Health Matters in association with Bucks Mind.

This session will look at what dementia is and how to recognise the signs as well as explaining the different types of dementia.

Dr Hemsley will outline where we stand now in terms of treatment and what the future may bring. This is an interactive talk that will be suitable for mental health professionals as well as those affected by dementia so please bring your questions with you.

Dr Svetlana Hemsley is a locum consultant in Old Age Psychiatry for the South Oxfordshire Mental Health Team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and member of the Public Education Editorial Board at Royal College of Psychiatrists. Her main interest lies in promoting mental health and awareness about dementia.
