Consultants will be taking industrial action on 20 and 21 July.

During the consultants’ strike we would like to ask those with appointments scheduled for this period to presume that they will be going ahead as planned unless we make contact to advise that they need to be rescheduled.

During the industrial action the Trust will continue to work to keep everyone safe and cared for, but as an employer, we also respect the right of our colleagues to strike.

Patients should not put off seeking urgent or emergency care, with key services continuing to operate. But, patients should only call 999 if it is a medical or mental health emergency (when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk).

Where the situation is not life-threatening, support will be available through NHS111 online or through NHS 111. This is for both urgent physical help and for accessing our Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire 24-7 mental health helpline.

If you need medical help but it’s not urgent, then your local pharmacy or GP will be best-placed to help. GP services are not impacted by this strike action. Please continue to attend your GP appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise.
