{"id":185209,"date":"2015-01-04T15:42:55","date_gmt":"2015-01-04T15:42:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/library\/?page_id=185209"},"modified":"2020-11-27T17:58:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-27T17:58:52","slug":"sexual-health","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/library\/cpd-zone\/cpd-by-topic\/sexual-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Sexual health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>See Female Genital Mutilation <a href=\"#FGM\">below<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stif.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">STI Foundation <\/a>(STIF)<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">The STIF Competency Programme is a\u00a0nationally recognised training and assessment qualification in sexual health developed and administered by the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">.<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">\u00a0The<\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5\">\u00a0<\/strong><a style=\"line-height: 1.5\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stif.org.uk\/STIF\/Home\/STIF_Foundation\/STIF\/STIF_Foundation.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">STIF Foundation Course<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">is suitable for nurses, HCAs, health advisers and doctors from primary care, contraception\/sexual health services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The FSRH offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsrh.org\/education-and-training\/srh-essentials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SRH Essentials for Primary Care,<\/a> a one day course aimed specifically at healthcare practitioners working in primary care settings.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>T<\/strong>he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsrh.org\/careers-and-training\/diploma--nurse-diploma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FSRH Diploma<\/a>is aimed at doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, physician associates or other healthcare professionals registered in the UK and Ireland, working in primary care, community and integrated sexual health services. The Diploma is a blended learning package.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsrh.org\/education-and-training\/e-learning-for-sexual-and-reproductive-healthcare-esrh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e-learning for Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (e-SRH)<\/a> is aimed at healthcare staff delivering non-specialist sexual and reproductive healthcare in a community setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-lfh.org.uk\/programmes\/sexual-health-and-hiv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eHIV-STI<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is an extensive e-learning programme developed by the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians in partnership with Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare. It includes around 140 sessions of e-learning incorporating video clips and case studies covering large parts of the knowledge components of the sexual health and HIV (Genitourinary Medicine) specialist training curriculum. Many of the modules are relevant to those in primary care wanting to increase their knowledge in the area of sexual health and HIV.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcwhf.co.uk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Primary Care Women\u2019s Health Forum<\/a> <\/strong>is dedicated to the education and support of healthcare professionals across the UK caring for female patients. The Forum offers a range of training opportunities, including educational meetings and webinars. Recordings of past webinars are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcwhf.co.uk\/publications.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Publications page.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>RCGP<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/clinical-and-research\/resources\/toolkits\/menstrual-wellbeing-toolkit.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong> Menstrual Wellbeing Toolkit,<\/strong><\/a> developed in partnership with <a title=\"Endometriosis UK\" href=\"https:\/\/www.endometriosis-uk.org\/RCGP-menstrual-wellbeing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Endometriosis UK<\/a>, is an \u2018easy to use\u2019, logical, evidence-based resource for GPs and other primary care clinicians to help diagnose, support and manage problems caused by menstrual dysfunction.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"FGM\"><\/a><\/p>\n<details class=\"nhsuk-details nhsuk-expander\">\n                    <summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\">\n                        <span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)<\/span>\n                    <\/summary>\n                    <div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\">\n<p><em>According to the United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF), there are an estimated 137 000 women in the UK affected by FGM.\u00a0 Learn more from the FGM <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/NEW-FGM-FACTS-AND-FIGURES-11.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FACTS AND FIGURES <\/a>awareness-raising poster.
