{"id":185140,"date":"2014-12-17T21:41:58","date_gmt":"2014-12-17T21:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/library\/?page_id=185140"},"modified":"2020-11-27T17:59:35","modified_gmt":"2020-11-27T17:59:35","slug":"veterans-health","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/library\/cpd-zone\/cpd-by-topic\/veterans-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Veterans&#8217; Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/2018\/07\/gp-practices-across-the-country-to-become-veteran-friendly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Military Veteran Aware Accreditation<\/a>\u00a0is a new national scheme to improve medical care and treatment for former members of the armed services that has been backed by NHS England and the Royal College of GPs.<\/p>\n<p>The RCGP has produced a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/clinical-and-research\/resources\/toolkits\/veterans-healthcare-toolkit.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Veterans&#8217; Healthcare Toolkit<\/a> on how to meet the healthcare needs of patients who served and their families.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-lfh.org.uk\/programmes\/nhs-healthcare-for-the-armed-forces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NHS Healthcare for the Armed Forces<\/a> is a free e-Learning package from Health Education England e-LfH aimed at healthcare professionals to help increase understanding of the armed forces population and facilitate improved care and treatment.
