However, health and care professionals in community services, outpatient settings and care homes may also find it useful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bjgplife.com\/2020\/03\/18\/video-consultations-guide-for-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Video consultations: a guide for practice\u00a0<\/a> BJGP Life (18 March 2020) &#8211; guidance to support video consultations from researchers at the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>According to research 43% of adults in England do not have adequate literacy skills to routinely understand health information, and 61% of adults do not have adequate numeracy skills to routinely understand health information. A<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hee.nhs.uk\/our-work\/health-literacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health Literacy Toolkit<\/a><\/strong> has been produced which includes practical tools and techniques that practitioners in a variety of settings can implement, to enhance approaches and practice for those with low levels of health literacy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.betterconversation.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Better conversation: Better health\u00a0<\/a>&#8211;\u00a0Resources for clinicians and health and care leaders on how to introduce a <strong>health coaching approach<\/strong> to improve the quality of conversation and help patients change behaviour. The site includes a short video, infographics and a resource guide with case studies, evidence and tips.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mefirst.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mefirst <\/a>\u00a0is dedicated to improving communication between healthcare professionals and children and young people. As well as face to face training there is a collection of resources aimed at all healthcare professionals who work with children and young people clinically but who may not have had specific paediatric training.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                <\/details>\n<details class=\"nhsuk-details nhsuk-expander\">\n                    <summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\">\n                        <span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Communicating with your colleagues<\/span>\n                    <\/summary>\n                    <div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtools.com\/page8.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Communication\u00a0\u2013 from Mindskills<\/a> &#8211; Mindskills offers a suite of materials\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; from planning and structuring\u00a0oral and written presentations, and meetings, through to more difficult situations, that may require negotiating and persuasion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/learning.bmj.com\/learning\/course-intro\/communication%20skills.html?locale=en_GB&amp;courseId=10063160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Communication skills<\/a> elearning from BMJ\u00a0 can\u00a0 help with relationship-building, delivering feedback and handling conflict.
