The experience and involvement team works across the trust to understand the experience of those who use our services.<\/p>\n

With a member in each directorate, we use their expertise to help improve our services.<\/p>\n

Who we work with<\/h2>\n

When we talk about people who use our services, we refer to both patients and their carers \u2013 who may be family, friends or other contacts.<\/p>\n

Much of the work we do involves both patients and carers together, though there are also aspects where we work with each group separately.<\/p>\n

What we do<\/h2>\n

There are two main areas covered by the team:<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

This refers to understanding the experience of those who use our services.<\/p>\n

Primarily this refers to I Want Great Care<\/a><\/strong> which is the feedback system used by the trust.<\/p>\n

Team members review this feedback. We use the data to help clinical teams understand the experience of those they help, and to identify areas for improvement.<\/p>\n

Involvement<\/h3>\n

This refers to involving our service users and carers in designing, influencing and improving our services \u2013 alongside the staff that work in them.<\/p>\n

This is generally called \u2018co-production\u2019 and this is a term you are likely to see throughout this site.<\/p>\n

This work can consist of facilitating forums, supporting service users to become involved in Quality Improvement projects or supporting clinical teams to use the expertise of their service users.<\/p>\n

We use the term Experts by Experience (EBEs) to refer to those who work with us to share their views and ideas, as they have a unique expertise that no amount of academic qualifications can provide staff members with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
