All referrals will need to go through the HOPESPA and be discussed at the weekly Clinical Activity Panel.<\/p>\n<details class=\"nhsuk-details nhsuk-expander\">\n                    <summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\">\n                        <span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Criteria<\/span>\n                    <\/summary>\n                    <div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\">\n<p>We\u00a0accept inpatient referrals for individuals aged\u00a017\u00bd and above who fulfil one or more of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Severely low weight, i.e. a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 17.5 usually as a result of rigid and purposeful dietary restriction<\/li>\n<li>Recent history of rapid weight loss, e.g. more than 1 kg a week for 12 consecutive weeks, as a result of rigid and purposeful dietary restriction.<\/li>\n<li>Severe binge eating, purging behaviours, self induced vomiting several times a day for three months or more. This may be indicated by low electrolyte levels particularly potassium and calcium.<\/li>\n<li>Significant deterioration or no significant improvement in an eating disorder after a reasonable course of specialist outpatient therapy.<\/li>\n<li>Severe bingeing and purging cycles that require a time limited admission of up to six weeks inpatient treatment in order to break the cycles.<\/li>\n<li>A need for care for their eating disorder under a Section of the Mental Health Act 1983.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n                <\/details>\n<details class=\"nhsuk-details nhsuk-expander\">\n                    <summary class=\"nhsuk-details__summary\">\n                        <span class=\"nhsuk-details__summary-text\">Written referral<\/span>\n                    <\/summary>\n                    <div class=\"nhsuk-details__text\">\n<p>Please download the HOPESPA referral form (link to form \u2013 attached).
