Children's Integrated Therapies

12-Week Intervention Programme

About this programme

This programme is designed to support both parents and schools. If a child is having difficulties in more than one area, please talk together (with the teacher, parent, and child) and choose just a few things to focus on first.

For tips on setting goals, see our guide: Coaching approach (pdf)

Information for parents

Please scroll down to the boxes below to see our recommended activities. If your child has multiple difficulties, please prioritise and focus on 3 or 4 goals at a time. Please try these activities for 12 weeks. Regular and consistent practice is the key to learning new skills, especially for children with motor co-ordination difficulties.

If there is absolutely no improvement after regular and consistent practice over 12 weeks, then please return the 12 week questionnaire, giving as much detail as you can. Please send this via email to OxonChildrens.Therapies@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk.  We may ask you for more information if we need this.

If your child has not already been referred to us and you are using the 12 week programme because it was recommended to you by a school or someone else, then please seek a referral to our service via your GP and send in the 12 week questionnaire following this.

You can also visit the CanChild website to learn more about developmental coordination disorder and our parent workshop.
