What is accreditation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Accreditation is an award of excellence, and is available for Early Year Settings, Primary Schools and Care Homes.<\/p>\n

The award demonstrates that the setting has met the following criteria:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All staff have undertaken generic and bespoke training around the promotion of Oral Health for those in their care.<\/li>\n
  2. The setting has a healthy eating policy.<\/li>\n
  3. The setting actively promotes Oral Health messages and Public Health\u00a0messages to those in their care and to their families\/friends.<\/li>\n
  4. There is a named Oral Health Champion within the setting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How is accreditation achieved?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n \n Care homes<\/span>\n <\/summary>\n
    \n

    For Care homes to achieve accreditation, they will demonstrate that they meet the 4 points above and actively support residents to carry out their Oral Health care, assesses a resident\u2019s Oral Health and records Oral Health care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/details>\n

    \n \n Early years and schools<\/span>\n <\/summary>\n
    \n

    For Early Years Settings and Schools to achieve accreditation, two levels of accreditation are achievable: Silver and Gold.<\/p>\n

    Both levels of accreditation require the meeting of the 4 points above with Gold award showing that the children in the setting or a part of the setting is carrying out supervised toothbrushing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/details>\n

    Reaccreditation occurs every two years.<\/p>\n
