You might see one member of the team on their own or several of them.<\/p>\n<p>We will work with you to agree what support and treatment is best for you.<\/p>\n<p>These are some mental health professionals who could be in your\u00a0team.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Art Therapist<\/h2>\n<p>A therapist who uses a form of psychotherapy using art media as its primary mode of communication.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Care Coordinator<\/h2>\n<p>The person\u00a0who is the organiser of your care, and often a main point of contact for you and your family\/carers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Clinical Psychologist<\/h2>\n<p>Clinical Psychologists help people with the way they behave and the way they feel and think about things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Family Therapist<\/h2>\n<p>A therapist who helps families to make changes by working with all or parts of your\u00a0family, listening to different perspectives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Learning Disability Nurse<\/h2>\n<p>A nurse who specialises in working with children and young people with learning disabilities, and their families\/carers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Occupational Therapist (OT)<\/h2>\n<p>A therapist who uses play and other activities to understand and help with feelings and worries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Psychiatrist<\/h2>\n<p>A\u00a0doctor with specialist training in child and adolescent mental health. They are also trained in prescribing medications used within CAMHS. The consultant has overall medical responsibility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Psychotherapist<\/h2>\n<p>A\u00a0professional who has specialist training in psychoanalytical approaches to the treatment of mental health problems in\u00a0you and your\u00a0family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)<\/h2>\n<p>A nurse with specialist knowledge of mental health, who works directly with\u00a0you, and your family\/carers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Senior Mental Health Practitioner<\/h2>\n<p>A social worker, registered mental health nurse or occupational therapist who may work with you individually.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Social Worker<\/h2>\n<p>A professional with specialist training in child development, family relationships, safeguarding children and child welfare issues, employed by the health service\u00a0and local authority to work in health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Speech and Language Therapist<\/h2>\n<p>Speech and language therapists provide life-changing treatment, support and care for children who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking and swallowing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Support Worker<\/h2>\n<p>A person who works directly in supporting you and your family\/carers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>Students<\/h2>\n<p>We have\u00a0teaching responsibilities which means that nursing, medical, social work, psychology or occupational therapy students may be present at your\u00a0interview; if you are not happy with this, please let us know before you arrive\u00a0\u2013 it will not affect your treatment in any way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box gray\">\n<h2>The role of a CAMHS team<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The role of a CAMHS team\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-N0LuWTody0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Young people have worked with the service to produce this video.
