{"id":3194,"date":"2020-12-17T14:48:24","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T14:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/irl\/?page_id=3194"},"modified":"2024-07-12T16:46:44","modified_gmt":"2024-07-12T15:46:44","slug":"ld","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/camhs\/oxon\/ld\/","title":{"rendered":"CAMHS Learning Disability Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Who is eligible for our team?<\/h2>\n<p>We\u00a0offer assessment to children and young people who have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an identified challenging mental health or behavioural difficulty, impacting quality of life and\/or presenting risk of harm<\/li>\n<li>a diagnosed moderate-severe learning disability or significant impairment of intellectual and social adaptive functioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What we can do<\/h2>\n<p>Mental health in children with learning disabilities can present differently from other children. So we also look at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Behaviours that challenge that risk breakdown of family, care and\/or educational environments<\/li>\n<li>Diagnostic assessments<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing management of mental health conditions<\/li>\n<li>Practical, environmental and emotional capacity of families and schools to proactively meet children&#8217;s needs and\/or contain and manage behaviours that challenge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who we work with<\/h2>\n<p>Our aim is to ensure that children, young people and families are supported with the right time with the right resource.
