During this time, we encourage you to explore the resources below, which may help support your child and family while you are waiting for your appointment<\/p>\n<p>While medication can be helpful for some aspects of ADHD, it\u2019s important to know that other strategies and supports can also make a meaningful difference. We also recommend speaking with your child\u2019s school to discuss how they can support your child during this time.<\/p>\n<h2>Autism Early Support (AES)<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-197192 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2026\/06\/AES.png\" alt=\"Autism Early Support (AES) logo\" width=\"202\" height=\"101\" \/><\/h2>\n<p>We work in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/autismearlysupport.org.uk\/programme-of-support-for-parents-carers\/\"><strong>Autism Early Support (AES)<\/strong><\/a>, a local specialist organisation offering a <strong>10\u2011week online programme<\/strong> for parents and carers.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the name, AES supports families of children with <strong>Autism and\/or ADHD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You <strong>do<\/strong> <strong>not<\/strong> need a diagnosis to attend, and the programme is open to all Buckinghamshire families.<\/p>\n<h3>The programme includes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to a free online portal with <strong>blogs, resources and webinars<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Workshops and Family Support Groups to help you:\n<ul>\n<li>understand and support your child<\/li>\n<li>develop a profile of your child\u2019s needs to share with schools or professionals<\/li>\n<li>find practical strategies to use at home<\/li>\n<li>understand and respond to your child\u2019s behaviours<\/li>\n<li>connect with other parents for peer support<\/li>\n<li>learn more about neurodiversity and its impact on family life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Autism Early Support (AES) &#8211; Parent Portal<\/h2>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/url.uk.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/9MI6CGR4OIjK2nPsKfxTBblN-?domain=portal.autismearlysupport.org.uk\/\">Autism Early Support Parent Portal<\/a> is fr<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">ee to all families living in Buckinghamshire. It is an interactive 24\/7 community of support, resources, and guidance. Wherever you are on your journey, the portal will help you with what you need to know and when you need to know it. It has been designed to be used with other media and sources of information such as the Oxford Health online content.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/adhduk.co.uk\/\">ADHD UK<\/a> is a charity set up to help those affected by ADHD \u2013 either those that have the condition or people close to them: family, friends, employers, and co-workers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/camhs\/carers\/all-things-adhd\/\">All things ADHD<\/a> has self help workbooks and videos aimed at parents and carers<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/camhs\/carers\/adhd-autism\/\">Parent Guide to ADHD &amp; Autism<strong> &#8211;<\/strong><\/a>an animated series of videos that reflect the real-life experiences of children, young people and families who use the service. These aim to reduce anxiety, support focus, and help each child show their strengths<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk\/schools-and-learning\/bucks-sendias-service\/\">Bucks SENDIAS service<\/a>\u00a0are a Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service that provides free, confidential, impartial information, advice and support on all matters relating to special educational needs and disability for children and young people aged 0 to 25 and their parents\/carers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsea.org.uk\/\">IPSEA\u00a0<\/a>are an independent provider of Special Education advice.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolsweb.buckinghamshire.gov.uk\/send-and-inclusion\/send-support-and-graduated-approach\/ordinarily-available-provision\/\">Ordinarily Available Provision<\/a> outlines the provision that the local authority expects to be made available for all Early Years children and children with special educational needs and or disabilities.
