We are\u00a0<\/span>available<\/span>\u00a0to support\u00a0<\/span>all children with Neurodivergence\u00a0<\/span>and Mental Health difficulties<\/span>\u00a0wherever they may be seen within CAMHS.<\/span>\u00a0This will look different for every child<\/span>\u00a0and can include the following:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our Speech and Language Therapist<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Occupational Therapist<\/span>\u00a0and Clinical Psychologists<\/span> work closely advising and supporting our<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>other\u00a0<\/span><\/span>CAMHS teams.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n We<\/span>\u00a0offer a bespoke package of care for those young people who\u00a0<\/span>can\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0access<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>NICE guideline<\/span><\/span><\/a> interventions. These will be guided by emerging evidence based practice as well as practice based evidence. <\/span>Our<\/span>\u00a0service<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span>will be offered in a variety of settings, including\u00a0<\/span>in the young per<\/span>son\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>education setting and home if <\/span>appropriate<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We are neuro-affirming and will\u00a0<\/span>seek<\/span> to understand the views of the child or young person with neurodivergence including being mindful of the language we use to talk about them<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span> We <\/span>seek<\/span> to include the child or young person and their supporters in all aspects of our care planning and service planning.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Our team<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>work<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0in a trauma informed way in everything we do.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Trauma<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>informed care means understanding that difficult or frightening experiences can affect how a child thinks, feels, and behaves, and responding with care and empathy. It focuses on creating a safe, trusting environment where young people feel heard, supported, and involved in decisions about their care. Rather than asking \u201cwhat\u2019s wrong?<\/span>\u201d,<\/span>\u00a0it\u00a0<\/span>asks<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>What does this person need<\/span>?\u201d and works to avoid causing further distress while helping them feel more in control<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We <\/span>work<\/span> in a way that brings together the skills, knowledge and <\/span>expertise<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>our<\/span>\u00a0multi-disciplinary team and the network that supports the young person<\/span><\/span>. We will<\/span>\u00a0consider all the aspects of the young person\u2019s physical health, development and lived experience that affect their story.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We see the young people we work with in a variety of places \u2013 this may be at <\/span>one of our CAMHS locations:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Saffron House\n
