The Thames Valley Link Programme (TVLP) has been established to provide extra support to children and young people who are often described as having \u2018complex needs\u2019. (You can find a description of complex needs in the \u2018Who we can help tab).<\/p>\n

The Link Programme covers Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.<\/p>\n

Best practice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The programme\u2019s approach is based on national best-practice. It works on the principle of understanding \u2018what has happened to the young person?\u2019 and not \u2018what is wrong with them?\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Link Teams will work with young people, their families and carers, and with wider stakeholders to deliver a service that is designed and delivered with their input.<\/p>\n

Hub and spoke<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Working in partnership with organisations from across the Thames Valley, the Link Programme is managed by Oxford Health NHS Trust. It acts as the hub and provides the programme’s strategic aims.<\/p>\n

One of these aims is to raise awareness and greater agreement among professionals about the needs of children and young people in complex situations.<\/p>\n

Link teams<\/h2>\n

Individual Link Teams will be developed in the three counties (Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire) individual Link Teams. These work with, rather than separate to, existing services.<\/p>\n
