The parents section of the site includes lots of useful information, tips and details of their free, confidential parents helpline on 0808 802 5544.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themix.org.uk\/\">The Mix<\/a> <\/strong>is the UK&#8217;s leading support service for children and young people up to 25 on a range of issues including mental health. They run discussion boards and can be contacted via online chat, a free, confidential helpline 0808 808 4994 and a free text crisis line (text\u00a0THEMIX\u00a0to\u00a085258).<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/epicfriends.co.uk\/answering\">Epicfriends<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is an excellent site provided by Sheffield CAMHS which helps young people to help friends who might be struggling to cope emotionally. It provides a very helpful traffic light system guiding you about how to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.papyrus-uk.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Papyrus<\/a><\/strong> is a national UK charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide.\u00a0They run HopeLineUK for children and young people up to 35 years and anyone who is concerned about a child or young person.\u00a0Its staffed by professionals and open 10am-10pm Monday to Friday and weekends 2.00pm &#8211; 10.00pm.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecalmzone.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)<\/strong><\/a> is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the biggest killer of men under 45 years in UK. CALM provides a helpline and webchat facility and both are open every day 5.00pm until midnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mymind.org.uk\/\">My Mind<\/a><\/strong> is a website created by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership which has lots of self-help resources for young people.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rethink.org\/home\">Rethink<\/a><\/strong> Mental Illness offers information about mental health problems and self-help strategies for coping with them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.talktofrank.com\/\"><strong>FRANK<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0offers friendly, confidential advice about drugs; it can help you find out everything you and your child or your friend might want to know about drugs (and some stuff you don\u2019t).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n<div class=\"nhsuk-care-card nhsuk-care-card--non-urgent\">\n                <div class=\"nhsuk-care-card__heading-container\">\n                    <h3 class=\"nhsuk-care-card__heading\"><span role=\"text\"><span class=\"nhsuk-u-visually-hidden\">Non-urgent advice: <\/span>Useful apps<\/span><\/h3>\n                    <span class=\"nhsuk-care-card__arrow\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n                <\/div>\n                <div class=\"nhsuk-care-card__content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.headspace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HeadSpace<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a guided meditation app that many young people and adults have found helpful. There is a free version that can be used freely and a subscription version that includes additional resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/calmharm.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CalmHarm<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is an award-winning app which suggests tasks to help young people resist or manage the urge to self-harm.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.docready.org\/static\/client\/index.html#\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doc Ready<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is a digital tool that helps young people prepare to speak to a doctor about mental health \u2013 it helps them create a checklist of things they may want to talk about, and gives information and advice about speaking to a GP<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anxietycanada.com\/resources\/mindshift-cbt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MindShift<\/a> <\/strong>is an app designed to help teens and young adults cope with anxiety.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prevent-suicide.org.uk\/stay_alive_suicide_prevention_mobile_phone_application.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stay Alive<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is a suicide prevention app providing information and tools to help you stay safe in crisis. You can use it if you are having thoughts of suicide or if you are concerned about someone else who may be considering suicide.
