Pain, discomfort and physical health

Challenge

It doesn’t need much explaining why pain and discomfort can prevent us both getting to sleep and staying asleep.

We might also have health conditions that impact our energy levels and sleep.

For instance, problems with your thyroid can create symptoms of anxiety. Deficiencies in Iron and Vitamin D (both common in teenagers) can make us feel like we have no energy.

Strategies

It’s important to monitor and investigate our physical health and get any pain or discomfort checked out.

A GP or pharmacist can give you professional advice and information andrun tests to investigate any physical health causes of difficulties.

Try not to take any medication without speaking to a professional first.
