Waiting list

The resources on this web page provide advice and guidance about what might be going on for your child and their current challenges. They include tips on how you can support them while you wait for contact from the team.

Accepted referrals

What happens after my child’s referral has been accepted?

The first contact

An initial assessment will be carried out by a qualified clinician in the team to establish what support you and your child need.

What happens next?

This will depend on the outcome of the initial assessment, and could be any of the following:

  • Referral to the Challenging Behaviour Pathway
  • ASD and ADHD assessments
  • Psychiatric assessment
  • Medication reviews
  • ASD support for those with a diagnosis, and waiting diagnosis
  • 1:1 individual sessions
  • Support to identify the need for a Health Action Plan and Hospital Passport

We do not currently offer cognitive assessments and sensory assessments.

Your child may be allocated a Key Worker within the team who will support with coordinating the care they receive.

If our service is not right for your child at present, they may be referred to a different service.
