Consider the environment
Behaviour is communication
- Change needs to be made in a person’s environment to support them to be able to communicate and have their needs met.
- This can mean making changes in the home, school, and any other care-giving setting.
Behaviours and stressors
- The stress bucket is used to understand how our stress impacts on our ability to cope with day-to-day life. Stressors include processing sensory information, pain, anxiety, unexpected change, poor sleep, etc.
- Does your child find some environments harder to tolerate than others?
- What helps to calm your child?
