Text the word \u2018SUNRISE\u2019 to 85258. <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/news\/24-7-text-service-for-mental-health-support\/\">More information about Sunrise<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Private psychotherapy<\/h2>\n<p>If you are considering sourcing Psychotherapy privately, our helpful patient leaflet may help guide you on what to consider.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"nhsuk-list-panel__list nhsuk-list-panel__list--with-label\">\n<li class=\"nhsuk-list-panel__item\"><a class=\"nhsuk-list-panel__link\" href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/leaflets\/title\/private-consultation-therapy\/\">Private Consultation &amp; Therapy<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Driving<\/h2>\n<p>If you hold a UK driving license, please <b>regularly check<\/b>\u00a0the DVLA\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/adhd-and-driving\">criteria and guidance<\/a> regarding safe driving in the context of ADHD, as this may change over time.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, you only need to inform the DVLA that you have ADHD if your driving is affected by your ADHD <b>or <\/b>ADHD medication.<\/p>\n<h2>Sleep<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/every-mind-matters\/mental-wellbeing-tips\/how-to-fall-asleep-faster-and-sleep-better\/\">General NHS sleep guidance<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>For insomnia, you may be able to access Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for insomnia via your local <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/bucks-talking-therapies\/\">NHS Talking Therapies service<\/a> or online via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleepio.com\/sleepio\/nhs\/391#1\/1\">Sleepio<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-nl5Rh1HuSs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-nl5Rh1HuSs\"><u>Neuroscientist shares ADHD specific sleep hacks &#8211; Nicole Vignola<\/u><\/a> (YouTube)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DCQXAY5sQw4\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DCQXAY5sQw4\"><u>Psychologist: 3 Scientific Ways To Optimise Your ADHD &#8211; Jo Perkins<\/u><\/a> (YouTube, sleep information starts at 54:58)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Exercise<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s good evidence that engaging in regular physical exercise supports emotional regulation, energy levels, aspects of executive functioning, and general wellbeing.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A gradual and sustainable approach to exercise is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Find something you enjoy doing and try to make it a regular by integrating into your existing schedule).<\/li>\n<li>Morning exercise will boost your dopamine levels and sharpen the mind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Food and eating<\/h2>\n<p>A balanced diet and structured eating patterns support stable energy levels, concentration, and overall wellbeing, particularly as irregular meals may\u00a0exacerbate\u00a0fatigue and attentional difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>There is some limited evidence that omega-3 fatty acid supplementation may be beneficial for some individuals with ADHD, although effects are\u00a0generally modest.<\/p>\n<p>Some evidence suggests that artificial food dyes may\u00a0exacerbate\u00a0ADHD symptoms in a minority of individuals.<\/p>\n<h2>Employment<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>ADHD UK<\/strong> website contains a section on work, including information on reasonable adjustments and a <a href=\"https:\/\/adhduk.co.uk\/adhd-and-work\">welfare pack to help people with ADHD in the workplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The government\u2019s <strong>Access to Work<\/strong> scheme can provide support and funding to help people with ADHD to take up or stay in work.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to discuss this with your employer as they are expected to contribute to the cost of any suggested support. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/access-to-work\">Check eligibility and apply online<\/a>. You can also apply by phone on 0800 1217 479.<\/p>\n<h2>Students<\/h2>\n<p>You may be eligible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/disabled-students-allowance-dsa\">Disabled Student Allowance<\/a> (DSA).
