Jaroslaw Semeniuk, Paediatric Physiotherapist

Jaroslaw’s nomination

Jaro saved me from myself.

As a line manager he has gone far above and beyond to support me. After struggling with my personal life and mental health in silence for a long period of time I finally broke down to Jaro.

He sensed that when I asked for supervision it was more than just a routine supervision session. That day he took the time to listen to me, support me and validate how I felt.

He treated me with dignity and as a person without judgement. Having someone that I felt I could confine in at work was the first step I took to changing my situation.

Having a caring compassionate manager made me feel safe and secure that no matter what was going on in my personal life that I would come to work and have someone look out for me.

He ensured that he put the time aside in his very busy diary to have routine check ins with me and supported me with accessing services that I needed.

He recognised signs to indicate I may be struggling but also signs to see that I was progressing. As time has progressed I have continued to seek support from Jaro as I require but always know that if I were to require his support he would be there.

Jaro has not only been huge support for me but the rest of our team, service and families. He will always ensure that time is made for service improvement to ensure that our families continue to access the best version or our service.

He priorities supporting our students and sharing his passion for our profession, he identifies the importance of cultivating our future workforce.

Jaro will support the children he cares for with excellence and builds on his clinical skills with up to date research ensuring evidence based practice.

He is dedicated to developing our service website to ensure families are able to access support and resources continuously around the clock, prior to initial assessments and during treatment.

Jaro has been a constant for our children’s physio workforce, with ever changing demands, workforce and pressures on our clinicians, he has adapted himself taking on additional responsibilities, projects and increasing his caseload to limit the amount of disruption that is caused.

Over the past few years Jaro has been the heart and soul of our service, nothing is too much for him and he will do everything and anything to support those that require him. He will face every situation with a positive attitude and an infectious smile.

Jaro integrates oxford health values to his managerial, leadership and clinical skills, he is an absolute credit to the children’s physio service and the trust. He needs to be recognised for the work he does.

I cannot thank him enough.
