{"id":32,"date":"2023-10-18T15:21:58","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T14:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/wceds\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2026-06-03T14:08:36","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T13:08:36","slug":"referrals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/bceds\/professionals\/referrals\/","title":{"rendered":"Referrals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This page explains how to make a referral to our service and what happens once we receive it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ohft-box red\">\n<p data-section-id=\"ks6298\" data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"780\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Important information<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"1402\">\n<li data-section-id=\"42l4xj\" data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"895\">Referrals must be made by a GP or a mental health professional &#8211; we\u2019re not able to accept self-referrals.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"9ydo9y\" data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"1080\">If you\u2019re worried about yourself and aren\u2019t currently under mental health services, please book an appointment with your GP. They can discuss your concerns and refer you if needed.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19yqzq9\" data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1182\">If you\u2019re worried about someone else, encouraging them to speak to their GP is a good first step.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Referrals process<\/h2>\n<h3>Complete our referral form<\/h3>\n<p>Please complete our <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/83\/2026\/04\/AED-referral-form.doc\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-562\">referral form<\/a> with as much detail as possible.<\/p>\n<h3>Send it to the appropriate inbox<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"589\" data-end=\"748\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17h0xn5\" data-start=\"589\" data-end=\"703\">If you are a mental health professional, email the form to: <a href=\"mailto:buckseatingdisorderservice@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\">buckseatingdisorderservice@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17h0xn5\" data-start=\"589\" data-end=\"703\">If you are a GP, email the form to: <a href=\"mailto:gateway.admin@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk\">gateway.admin@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong data-start=\"298\" data-end=\"325\">We review your referral<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A member of our team will look over the information and decide on the next steps.<\/p>\n<h2>What happens next<\/h2>\n<div class=\"ohft-box green\">\n<p>If the referral is <strong data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"477\">accepted<\/strong>, we\u2019ll aim to keep the referrer updated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ohft-box red\">\n<p>If the referral is <strong data-start=\"545\" data-end=\"561\">not accepted<\/strong>, this may be because:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"748\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17h0xn5\" data-start=\"589\" data-end=\"703\">We need more information &#8211; we\u2019ll contact you to request this, and you can re-send the referral if appropriate.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"hckxh2\" data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"748\">Our service may not be the right fit.
